Advanced Canyoning in Rogovo Gorge, Papigo! A unique experience in the area of Papigo for adrenaline lovers.
Canyoning is undoubtedly the epitome of outdoor activities! Descending natural gorges with special equipment requires a combination of both physical and mental skills! We hike, descend, slide on rocks and water slides and swim in the crystal clear waters of Tymfi. All this by mobilizing concentration, balance, flexibility and of course our fun!
The Rogovo or Potistra Stream springs from the westernmost peak of Mount Tymfi, Lapatos (2,254m.) And crosses the two settlements of Papigo. At first it has the form of a ravine, however after a relatively short distance, it changes morphology and turns into a narrow gorge with the characteristic limestone of Tymfi. Its characteristic pedestals or "ovirs" are a trademark and offer enjoyable moments of coolness to their visitors! Millions of years of erosion have sculpted these impressive rocks in the Rogovo Gorge! An 800 meter long gorge with 10 rappels, 3 water slides and refreshing pedestals for 3 hours of fun and action in the water!
The Advanced Canyoning program in the Rogovo Gorge starts with a journey of about 25 minutes. Then we approach the rappelling points, we descend to unique waterfalls and natural water slides! Despite the demanding nature of the gorge and its 10 rappels, it is suitable even for those who have no previous experience! The exit point is about 40 minutes (1.7 km) from the starting point.
